This a 9 days nature and wildlife safari holiday in northern Tanzania, that starts and ends in Arusha; the holiday begins with a drive from Arusha to Tarangire where you will spend some time spotting wildlife, then proceed to Serengeti national reserve, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. Major activities are focused on wildlife watching, exploring the crater, lakes and other beautiful landscapes along the region; a great itinerary for wildlife and nature lovers.

Day 1, Arrival

On this day, you will be picked from the airport or on an agreed venue in Arusha, briefed about the safari itinerary. Then driven to Moshi where you will spend an hour or so watching Mount Kilimanjaro, after that you will be driven to Arusha Coffee Lodge; where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing and preparing for the safari.

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world; it’s a dormant volcanic mountain with the highest peak Kibo; rising about 5895 m above sea level. Mount Kilimanjaro is popular destination in visited to thousands of tourists every year.

Day 2, Arusha to Lake Manyara

On this day after breakfast, you will be driven through the beautiful maize, coffee and banana plantations as you travel to the Masai Steppe, down to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge; it’s a beautiful Lodge located on the edge of the Lake and has a stunning view over the lake. On arrival you will have lunch and a brief rest, before having your evening game drive at Lake Manyara national park.

Lake Manyara is a small but pretty national park situated between the Rift Valley escarpment and the large sodiforous lake on the road to Ngorongoro crater and Serengeti national reserve. 

Day 3, Lake Manyara to Serengeti

On this day, you will drive north to Serengeti national reserve, on arrival; you will drive through the park watching a few wildlife to Serengeti Serena Lodge, where you will have lunch and a brief rest before embarking on your evening game drive. Serengeti Serena Lodge is a beautiful large safari lodge located on the central areas of Serengeti, it’s nicely set on a hilltop overlooking the open plains full of wildlife.

Serengeti National Park is without a doubt one of the top wildlife national parks in Africa, it's home to thousands of wildlife that include all the ‘Big Five’, the famous wildebeest migration, hundreds of bird species and beautiful landscapes.

Day 4, Explore Serengeti

On this day, you will have a whole day tour; experiencing the true of Africa adventure, driving miles through the beautiful open grassland, the acacia forests, along the cliffs and ridges watching wildlife that include all the Big 5’s, hundreds of bird species, wildebeest among many others. Then return to the Lodge for a relaxed dinner around the fire and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Note: - This day’s event can be adjusted or completely changed to suit your personal requirements, it can be adjusted by adding a midday cultural visit or with a nature walk, a morning hot air balloon flight or if it’s on the great migration period; you can change the whole day event to just track the great migration.

Day 5, Serengeti to Ngorongoro

On this day after breakfast, you will leave the hotel with a packed picnic lunch, drive southwest to Ngorongoro national reserve, on arrival; you will have a game drive through the park watching more wildlife and the beautiful landscapes at Ngorongoro, then have a bush picnic lunch and a brief rest. Then continue with the drive through the park to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge; where you will spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying various spa treatments and hotel amenities on offer.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is a beautiful large lodge located on the rim of the Crater and has stunning view of the Crater.

Day 6, Explore Ngorongoro

On this day after breakfast, you will start with a nature walk descending into the renowned Ngorongoro Crater, passing through the forest, swamps, open grassland, the sandy dunes, down to the Crater Lake full of birds and surrounded by wildlife.  On the way back, you will extend the walk to the famous Masai Villages; this are the homes for the famous Masai people, they are well known for their fascinating culture and traditions, you can easily spot them grazing their cattle at the crater unshaken by the presence of the wild animals.

Ngorogoro Crater is an impressive geological feature created by a collapsed volcano, leaving a huge bowl-like landscape; it has one of the best world geographical scenery, thousands of animals and birds species.

Day 7, Ngorongoro to Tarangire

On this day, you will leave Ngorongoro national reserve, drive south past Lake Manyara to Tarangire national park; on arrival, you will drive through the park south to Oliver’s Camp, where you will check in and have a brief rest before going for an evening game drive.

Oliver's Camp is a classic safari camp, situate within the southern parts of Tarangire national park, originally established in 1989 by Paul Oliver. The camp has a huge reputation on guided walking safaris and nature exploration; a great places for families and small groups’ safari holiday.

Day 8, Explore Tarangire

On this day after breakfast, you will begin with a half day guided nature walk, then return to the camp for lunch and a brief rest, then embark on an evening game drive returning just in time for a sunset dinner.

Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania, located about 118 Km south west of Arusha, it covers an area of approximately 2,850 square kilometers. The park’s name originated from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park, being the only source of water for wild animals during dry seasons. The park is famous for its huge number of elephants, baobab trees and tree climbing African pythons.

Day 9, End of Tour

On this day, you will have a small morning game drive, taking you down to Tarangire river and then return to the Lodge for a brief rest before driving back to Arusha, where you will have lunch and a brief rest at Arusha Hotel, before being driven to the Airport for your return flight.
