A family safari has no age restrictions, but Kentz safaris recommend that families with kids between 0 – 5 year should avoid the long drives safaris and if they really wants to view wildlife they can do a 2-3 hours day tour to animal orphanage or museums that are close to their hotels.

When is the best time for a Family Holiday in Africa?

Africa is generally sunny and dry throughout the year with long rains between March-May and the short rains in November-December, due to the climate change the amount of rainfall varies year to year, we strongly advise you to Contact our holiday expert for an exact advice on when to visit.

The best times for families to travel in Africa is during the summer holidays (June – September) or January to March when it’s sunny and dry. For short holidays would also include Christmas and Easter holidays.

Meals

For most of the family hotels and Lodges, the meals are usually prepared early to allow the kids to eat and sleep early. For special diet, an advance notice is required to allow enough time to prepare. There is a wide variety of food available from the African cuisine, Asian to western breakfast among others.

Health requirements

There are no vaccination required for families to travel in most countries in Africa(unless there is an outbreak in certain region requiring vaccination), but we strongly advise our clients to take an anti malaria vaccine or tablets, or visit your personal doctor for proper information on which vaccine to take.
