This is a 12 days Camping Safari tour, giving you a glimpse of what Kenya is all about; from the large national parks and reserves full of wildlife, to the beautiful landscapes, the diverse cultures and its friendly people. There is so much to watch on an overland camping safari. This a pure nature and wildlife watching itinerary, here you are sure to watch all the Big Five and thousands of other lesser wild animals, hundreds of bird species, the beautiful landscapes and the great migration (July - October only).

Summary

This a 12 days Overland/Camping safari holiday in Kenya, it includes; driving through the former central province to watch mount Kenya, dwon to Aberdare national park, then proceed to Samburu national reserve, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, the famous Masai Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo national park. The package combines wildlife watching, site seeing and cultural visit; its a unique and adventurous way to explore Kenya.

Day 1: Nairobi to Aberdares

On this day, you will be picked at an agreed venue in Nairobi, briefed about the camping safari itinerary and then drive through the former central province to Aberdares National Park, on arrival; you will check in at the main gate and drive through the park to Reedbuck public campsite, here you will have a brief rest and refreshments as you watch our team set up the campsite (if you like it, you can try to set up your own tent or assist in any of the activities). In the evening, you will have your first nature walk through the park to watch the beautiful hills and valleys, water falls, natural forests and wildlife. After that, return to the campsite for Dinner and then later set up a campfire.

Day 2-3: Aberdares to Samburu

On this day, you will have a morning game drive, then return to the campsite for breakfast and a brief rest as the team dismantle the campsite, then drive out of the park to Samburu national park. On arrival, drive through the park to the Samburu public campsite, while the chef prepares the late lunch; you will head out on an easy nature walk along the Ewaso Nyiro river to watch wildlife.

The following day after breakfast, you will leave the camp with a packed picnic lunch for a whole day game drive through the natural forest, acacia grassland and the Ewaso Nyiro River viewing wild animals like crocodiles and hippos, elephants, black rhinos, lions, leopards, giraffe and many others. At midday, when animals go into their hiding because of the hot sun, you will go for a cultural interaction tour to the Samburu villages and then embark on an evening game drive.

Day 4 : Samburu to Lake Nakuru

The following day, you will have a morning game drive and then return to the camp for breakfast and a brief rest before transferring to Lake Nakuru National park, on the way; you will have a stopover at Thomson falls for lunch and a brief view of the falls, then proceed with the drive to Lake Nakuru. On arrival, you will have an easy game drive through the park to the public campsite, where you spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful landscapes.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

On this day after breakfast, you will have a half day game drive around the Lake to watch the beautiful lake full of birds, surrounded by huge acacia trees and wild animals. After that you will then have a picnic lunch, then continue with the drive to the Lanet exit gate, where you will check out and proceed to Lake Naivasha  Cryfish Camping site.

Day 6:Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara

After breakfast, you will have a morning boat Lake Excursion taking you through major attraction on the lake; watching different bird species, crocodiles, hippos and other lesser wildlife. After that you will return to the campsite for lunch and a brief rest, and then transfer to the famous Masai Mara. On arrival, you will have an easy game drive through the park to Mara public camping site; here you spend the rest of the day relaxing and admiring the beautiful open plains full of wildlife.

Masai Mara is without a doubt one of the top wildlife national parks in Africa, it's home to thousands of wildlife that include all the ‘Big Five’, the famous wildebeest migration, hundreds of bird species and beautiful landscapes.

Day 7-8 : Explore Masai Mara

On this day after breakfast, you will leave the Campsite with a packed picnic lunch; have a morning game drive, then go for a midday cultural visit to the Masai Villages; where you have an insight view of the local Masai people and their unique traditions and way of living. After that you will head out to a bush picnic lunch, before returning to an evening game drive that will extend to the Mara River to watch the large hippos and crocodiles basking on the river banks.

The following day, you will have a morning game drive then return to the Campsite for breakfast and a brief rest, then transfer to Amboseli National Park; on the way you will have an hour lunch break at Nairobi Carnival restaurant, then proceed to Amboseli public Campsite where you spend the rest of the day relaxing and admiring the stunning views of mount Kilimanjaro and wildlife.

Day 9-10: Explore Amboseli

After breakfast, you try to catch a morning peak view of Mt Kilimanjaro, and then proceed for a morning game drive through the park; here you will have the opportunity to see large herds of elephant, baboons, lions, cheetah, black rhino, wildebeest, hippos, gazelles and many others. After that you will return to the campsite for midday break, in the evening you will have a guided nature walk through the park to watch more wildlife.

The following  day, you will wake up early, have a small morning game drive as you head out of Amboseli national park to Tsave west national park, on arrival you be transferred to the public campsite; where you will check in, have lunch and a brief rest, then embark on an evening game drive.

Day 11: Explore Tsavo National Park

On this day, you will have a whole day game drive; taking you through major attraction at Tsavo national park, then return to the Campsite for an evening bonfire games and entertainments.

Day 12: End of the Camping Safari

On your last day, you will have a morning game drive and then return to the campsite for breakfast and a brief rest before driving back to Nairobi. On arrival, you will be transferred to the airport or to an agreed venue in Nairobi.

Note: - This camping safari itinerary can be re-arranged to suit individual taste and can also be extended with a few days on the beach
