Diani house is a pleasant colonial bungalow set on a 5 acre piece of land along the diani beach, south of Mombasa; it’s a very intimate and pleasant beach home with the colonial architectural design, modern interior and decoration.
The main accommodation at Diani house are in 4 spacious en suite rooms and two separate cottages popular for honeymoon guests, all rooms are nicely furnished with own veranda and outstanding view of the beach and the gardens.
Meals at Diani house are well planned and prepared from fresh local product that include exotic fruits, vegetables and exquisite sea food; the meals are usually served at the main dining area or on the verandah or at the garden.
Diani House has a well equipped kitchen for self-catering and if you prefer to take it easy, there is a chef on site who is happy to create delicious dishes for all guests. The activities would include surfing, swimming, diving, fishing, boat trips to the island and bird watching.
The easiest and quickest way to get to Diani House is flying to Ukunda airport and then take a 5 minutes’ drive, there are daily scheduled flights from Nairobi (Wilson airport) to Diani; the other alternative is flying to Moi international airport in Mombasa and then driving to Diani House. By road from Mombasa town, it would include taking a ferry to cross over from Mombasa Island to South Coast; the ferry takes roughly ten minutes to cross over but depending with the queue on rush hours and on busy seasons, you may be forced to wait up to an hour to board the ferry, from there it’s roughly a 35 minutes’ drive to Diani House.
From Nairobi to Mombasa, you can either use a train, public buses or hired private cars to Mombasa then take a taxi to Diani House.
Other attractions near Diani House includes; going for a safari to Shimba Hills National Reserve, city excursion to major museum and zoos in the region; visit Bombolulu Workshops & Cultural Center, the ancient war museum Fort Jesus, Haller Park animal sanctuary, the crocodile farm at Mamba village among other attractions in Mombasa.
