Amboseli national park is about 200km from Nairobi City center; it’s a small park of about 390km² and it’s the second most popular national park in Kenya, after the famous Masai Mara. Besides the great game drive and the beautiful landscapes, Amboseli also offers you the opportunity to view the world’s tallest free-standing and snow-capped mountain (Mt Kilimanjaro) which tend to stand just on the border but on real sense is in Tanzanian.
The low vegetation, grassland and the open plains of Amboseli makes it easy for game watching; animals are easily spotted feeding, playing or lying on the open plains. Amboseli is well known for its large herds of African elephants, wildebeests, giraffes, African lions, monkeys, zebras, hyenas, antelope, over 300 birds species and many more.

By road from Nairobi, drive on the Mombasa road to Emali then Branch to Amboseli (about 200km), also can use the Nairobi - Namanga road (around 240km) and from Mombasa you can access the park through Tsavo west national park via Kamana gate. other entry gates includes Kelunyiet gate, Iremito gate, Ilmeshanan gate, Kitrua gate and the Airstrip gate.
By air, Amboseli national park has a single air strip at Empusel for only light air crafts, other air strips can be found at Namanga town and Kilimanjaro buffalo lodge.
